How to deposit crypto on OKX (without losing funds)
The site owner may earn a commission if you sign up with this code, at no extra cost to you. Not for residents of restricted regions (incl. U.S., Canada). Rewards vary by region and are not guaranteed. Independent guide, not an official OKX site.
Short answer: in the OKX app, go to Assets → Deposit → Deposit crypto, choose the coin and the network, then send funds to the address shown, using the same network on the sending side. Add the memo or tag if one is shown. OKX doesn't charge its own fee for crypto deposits, though the sending wallet or exchange may.
Before you deposit
- Finish identity verification first. OKX only lets verified accounts deposit. See OKX KYC verification.
- Send a small test amount first if it's your first time using a network or address.
Step-by-step: deposit crypto on OKX
- Open the OKX app and tap Deposit on the home screen, or go to Assets → Deposit → Deposit crypto.
- Choose the coin you're sending, for example USDT.
- Choose the network, for example Ethereum (ERC-20), Tron (TRC-20) or Solana. It must match the network you'll send from.
- Choose which OKX account receives it (Funding or Trading), if asked.
- Copy the deposit address, or scan the QR code from the sending app.
- If a memo or tag is shown (common for XRP, XLM and some others), enter it on the sending side too.
- Send the funds and wait for the required network confirmations, which are shown on the deposit page.
The most common mistake: the wrong network
The same coin can exist on several blockchains. USDT, for example, runs on Ethereum, Tron, Solana and others. If you send on one network to an address chosen for another, the funds may not arrive and can be lost. OKX also doesn't support every network for every coin, so if a coin-and-network pair isn't listed on the OKX deposit page, don't send it.
| Check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Same coin on both sides | Sending a different token to the address can mean losing it. |
| Same network on both sides | A network mismatch is the most common cause of lost deposits. |
| Memo or tag included | Without it, the exchange may not know which account to credit. |
| Above the minimum deposit | OKX says deposits below the minimum shown aren't credited. |
Deposit fees and timing
OKX doesn't charge its own fee for crypto deposits, but the wallet or exchange you send from charges a network fee. Timing depends on the blockchain and on how many confirmations OKX requires. Fast networks usually arrive within minutes. If a deposit hasn't arrived, check the transaction hash on a block explorer before you contact support.
Buying crypto with a card or bank transfer
Depending on your country, OKX may also offer card purchases, bank transfers or P2P trading. Availability and fees vary a lot by region, and P2P is restricted in some countries, so check the options shown in your own account.
